Rattler Athletics

I am fortunate enough to have played five years as a a student-athlete at Medicine Hat College in the Women's Soccer and Futsal programs. Throughout my years playing as a Rattler in the ACAC, I have been apart of many teams that have had high success on and off the field. For four consecutive seasons, our team has won gold medal at ACAC Futsal Championships and in 2014 we qualified for CCAA Nationals after getting a silver medal at the ACAC Championships.
As an individual, I have put a lot of hard work into my life as a student-athlete and am honored to be recognized on multiple occasions. I was awarded Female Athlete of the Year for Rattler Athletics for the 14/15, 15/16, and 16/17 seasons, ACAC Futsal Female Athlete of the Year, and an ACAC All Star five times. During my fourth and fifth years, I was also named a CCAA Academic All Canadian for recieving an ACAC All Star award while also maintaining a 3.5+ GPA in the classroom. My last season as a Rattler ended with being chosen as one of eight CCAA All Canadian's for Women's Soccer.

Being a student-athlete taught me so many lessons that will stick with me for life. It has made me ensure that I use my time wisely and efficiently in order to keep on top of everything. It has shown me that being apart of a team doesn't mean that you just practice and play together, but you help each other grow as individuals on and off the field. As a team, you take the up an the down's and you figure out how to overcome every obstacle thrown at you.

Coaching

Growing up, I was so lucky to have many coaches that spent hours on hours teaching me to love the sport of soccer. Now I have the chance to be that coach who inspires other young athletes. I have been a soccer coach for the past eight years working with boys and girls. I was honored to have the chance to be mentored by my college coach under the CCAA Female Apprenticeship Program. I developed the skill set to coach as well as becoming increasingly confident and competent. Seeing players improve from the beginning of the season to the end is hands down the best feeling for me. Helping a player learn a new skill, help the team beat a rival or even just being able to raise their self-esteem is why I am a coach. It is for all the little things that come with being a coach that makes all the hours behind the scene worth while. It has made me grow as a person because I have learned that I can be more than a soccer coach, I can be a life coach.
